Hi. I'm the editorial director of the Ogilvy & Mather Brand Newsroom. Launched in 2014, the Newsroom is a team of best-in-class copywriters, designers, journalists, editors and strategists. Creative thinkers pioneering a new way to help customers with a new way to work. Our mission is twofold: to deliver relevant, useful content to our brand’s audience, more individually and more authentically than ever before; and to work in an innovative method that borrows its nimble, strategic, responsive workflow from publishing.
My role is to oversee the creation and publication of all Brand Newsroom content; to ensure that all creative output meets the agency’s and the brand’s strict standards for editorial quality and all strategic objectives, as measured continually with planners and clients; and to manage our creative team of copywriters, designers and editors.
I've been an editor and writer for nearly two decades—on staff at publications including "Condé Nast Portfolio," "Details," "Print," "Blender," "Inside," "McSweeney’s," "Chicago," and "Advertising Age." I've also created and overseen branded content at two digital agencies: iCrossing, owned by Hearst, and Federated Media, where I founded a personal-finance site for American Express.
I've written for numerous publications including "The New Yorker," "New York," "The New York Times," "The Washington Post" and "The Believer."
I'm the author of "The Clumsiest People in Europe" (2005), an anthology of nasty children's geography books written by an eccentric woman in Victorian England.
