Junior Designer (Temporary)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented Junior Designer to join our team as part of Ogilvy New York’s Social@Ogilvy group. If you have the natural ability to craft intuitive and innovative pathways between keyboard and content we’d like to talk with you. Be able to demonstrate your passion to solve complex communications challenges on a global scale in a fast-paced environment through creativity, concept and a deep understanding of “what makes them click.” You have a refined design eye, you know how to tastefully use typography, and always strive towards excellence in your craft.  And of course, you have an innovative portfolio that demonstrates your success designing eye-catching content. This role will start off in a temporary capacity, with potential to go full-time.

Requirements:

Your toolbox should include solid expertise Adobe Creative Suite – in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign – as well as:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • An understanding of the unique challenges surrounding social media projects;
  • The ability to create, articulate and document meaningful user-centered online experiences
  • A positive and collaborative personality
  • The ability to clearly and confidently present your work in front of both internal and external clients
  • Work resourcefully, offering a variety of alternative solutions to creative problems
  • Resolve most questions and problems independently, seeking counsel where appropriate and making recommendations on complex issues
  • Don’t shy away from hands-on work.  Be ready to jump in with the highest level of design quality
  • BFA or BS degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience

Junior Community Manager

Role Overview:


Social@Ogilvy is seeking a Junior Social Media Community Manager who gets the paid, owned, and earned space (not in that order). We are looking for a strategic mind that can be creative.  Our Junior Community Manager must have all of the necessary skills within the social discipline, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.  An ideal candidate must be a brand champion, an agency facilitator, and an opportunist that grows our business.


Responsibilities: 


  • Develop and oversee communications strategy across client social media platforms, including daily content and community management of key social and web platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Slideshare and Instagram.
  • Work across Ogilvy divisions to ensure the communications strategy aligns to client business priorities and objectives.
  • Optimize the social media strategy on an ongoing basis, including researching and launching new social media channels when relevant
  • Measurement reporting of channel results to senior stakeholders to demonstrate social value
  • Run campaigns and promotions to encourage participation on social media initiatives
  • Foster key partnerships with influencers and brands


Requirements: 


  • Open-minded to creative strategies and new ideas with a focus on pro-active problem-solving
  • A self-starter who wants to see results quickly
  • Collaborative but able to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Brilliant writing skills
  • Experience maintaining content-rich websites/ CMS (ideally Wordpress) and/or social channels
  • Knowledge of social media and digital culture from theory to real, personal experiences
  • Agency experience preferred
  • BA/BS required (Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferred)
