Harveys Twitter Cards

UK first to market with Twitter Product Cards in online retail

Last month, we launched Twitter Product Cards for our client, Harveys Furniture.

Things of note:

  1. This is a sector first for the Furniture retail space
  2. This is a UK first for traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ retail
  3. In the month we’ve had them live, click throughs have trebled.

I’d say this is all fairly substantial, wouldn’t you? Also, it’s worth pointing out that not only have we integrated Twitter Cards into Harveys social media offering, we’ve also ensured that the ratings and reviews get pulled through from our partners, Bazaarevoice.

It was only back in April that I blogged about the new card features that Twitter was rolling out across their platform. I think I said something like:

This basically says that brands can now, with a simple piece of html markup, preview actual products, for purchase, including reviews and/or pricing information into their followers’ Twitter streams. Combine that with some decent tracking and you finally have what looks like a decent social sales ecosystem.

Well, one month later we were able to be first to market in the UK to get these rolled out. Thanks to our awesome client for working with us on this, and thanks to Twitter also (on both sides of the Atlantic) who were integral in the process of going live.
Right, what’s next?
